Policy wording
The document that actually decides the claim.
Definition
The full contract terms — the clauses attached, the exclusions, the conditions, the warranties, the law and jurisdiction. A certificate summarises; a schedule states the variables; the wording governs. Where a summary, a broker's presentation or a comparison table conflicts with the wording, the wording prevails.
Why it decides money
Every comparison on this site, including ours, is a summary. Ask for the wording before you bind, and read the exclusions first — that is where the disagreements live.

More in clauses and wordings
InsuranceScanner is an insurance intermediary, not an insurer — see the Terms for our role. Nothing here is a personal recommendation that a particular cover, sum insured or deductible is suitable for you. Where anything on this page conflicts with the certificate, policy schedule or wording issued by an insurer, that document governs.
