Cargo cover you can actually read
Most shippers buy cargo insurance without seeing what they bought. Cover gets bundled into a forwarder's invoice as a line item, or quoted by email against a clause reference nobody opens. When something is crushed, soaked or stolen, that is the moment the deductible, the exclusions and the sum insured turn out to matter.
InsuranceScanner puts the comparison in front of the purchase: premium, clause level, deductible and exclusions side by side, from markets that have appetite for your commodity and your route.
From risk to certificate
Describe the risk
Cargo value, commodity, packing, route and mode. Those five things drive almost the whole premium — everything else is refinement.
We rate and shop it
A rate per $100 of insured value is derived from the commodity risk class, mode, route and clause level, then put to the markets with appetite for that risk — 50+ underwriters and brokers.
You compare on the terms that matter
Not just price. Clause level, deductible, exclusions, and whether war, strikes or temperature deviation are included or loaded on top.
Bind and get the certificate
An insurer accepts the risk, a certificate is issued against the policy, and you download it as a PDF — the document your buyer, bank or letter of credit actually needs.
Claim without the phone tree
File a first notice of loss with photos and documents, and follow it through survey, adjustment and settlement in one place.
What we are
- · An insurance comparison and distribution platform for cargo in transit.
- · A rating layer that turns cargo details into an indicative premium.
- · A place to hold your certificates, declarations and claim files.
- · A route to markets that would otherwise reach you through a broker's inbox.
What we are not
- · Not an insurer. We do not carry risk or pay claims.
- · Not your adviser. We give you facts to compare, not a recommendation.
- · Not a party to your policy — that contract is between you and the insurer named on it.
- · Not the claims decision-maker. The insurer and its adjuster decide; we submit and track.
Five things we hold to
We say when we are not the insurer
We arrange cover; licensed insurers carry the risk and pay claims. That is on the homepage, in the Terms and on every quote surface — not in small print at the bottom of a funnel.
The wording wins
Our clause comparisons and exclusion summaries are there to make the wording legible, not to replace it. Where a summary and the issued policy disagree, the policy governs, and we say so on the page.
No invented numbers
We publish figures we can defend: 50+ markets, 40+ commodity risk classes, A · B · C clause levels. You will not find "claims paid" or "value insured" counters here until there is a real book behind them.
Premium and our fee are different amounts
Premium is the insurer’s price for the risk. Our fee is what you pay to use the platform. Mixing the two would misdescribe a regulated product, so we keep them apart on the pricing page and on your invoice.
Under-insurance is a real trap
Insuring for the invoice value alone leaves the freight, duty and your margin uncovered, and average clauses can cut a claim proportionally. The tools flag it rather than quietly quoting a cheaper premium.
Who runs it
InsuranceScanner is operated by Talya Global Lojistik Hizmetleri, and is one of a family of freight platforms built on shared infrastructure — schedules and rates, warehousing, customs, and this one for cover in transit.
Insurance distribution is licensed activity, and what may be done differs by country. Where we do not hold the licence ourselves, cover is arranged with a partner who does. If we cannot lawfully place your risk, we say so rather than quote.
Where we are
Pre-launch, and honest about it. The marketing site is live; quoting, binding, certificates and claims are being built in sequence. The status page lists exactly which parts work, and the changelog records what shipped.
